<div class="page" title="Page 2"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>Ethical violations are an important problem in universities. It is seen as an obstacle to scientific and ultimately social development. There is a need for new structures since the existing institutions cannot fully prevent ethical violations, which are a big problem for the society. One of these structures is the platforms where associations among democratic institutions and academics with ethical sensitivity will come together and protect the issue of ethics. First of all, the role of associations in society and the functions they can perform were determined by scanning the literature. In the light of these functions, it is believed that academicians can bring professional supervision and discipline to universities by organizing through non-governmental associations. In this context, the Association of Ethics in Academia (AKETDER) is taken as an example and the opinions of academics about the functions of this association in combating ethical violations are investigated. Then, the data obtained from the field research applied to 380 academicians by the content analysis of the documents and web page related to AKETDER were analyzed, and answers were sought to the research questions and previously developed hypotheses were tested. According to the results of the research, academicians think that AKETDER will be effective in combating ethical violations. Various activities that can be done to prevent ethical violations are also mentioned in the research.</p> </div> </div> </div>Fahri APAYDIN

In the research, the characteristics of tradesmen and craftsmen, which should be in ethical principles, were also defined. First of all, a process was designed to determine the principles, and this process was followed step by step. In this process, firstly, some principles determined by literature review were conveyed to academicians working on ethics, and their opinions were sought. After collecting opinions from academicians (108 academics participated in the process at this stage), a draft text was prepared by classifying the proposals with the Organization Committee consisting of faculty members who have academic studies on tradesmen and craftsmen and who teach ethics courses at undergraduate or graduate level. Later, this draft text was delivered to many more academics, tradesmen, tradesmen and craftsmen chambers, and citizens, and opinions were retaken. Within the framework of these opinions, after the necessary changes were made by the regulatory board, the 15-item "tradesmen and craftsmen ethical principles" were determined.</p> </div> </div> </div>Fahri APAYDINDeniz AKGÜLBirsel AYBEK

https://www.akademiketik.com/index.php/aketu/article/view/10
<div class="page" title="Page 2"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>Objective : The relationship between ability and ethics does not meet any of the competence, linearity or imperative conditions. The abstract, weird and complex research subject necessitates the examination of concrete examples which represent “giftedness-in-ethics”. Yi Yi (2002) directed by Edward Yang from Taiwan was selected as a representative example to portray “giftedness in ethics”. Method : Content analysis was applied within the framework of the narrative approach. For a valid and reliable analysis, (a) deconstruction, (b) reconstruction of concepts and (c) analysis methods have been developed. Firstly, the ethical and high ability concepts deciphered according to the features of (1) potentiality-performance, (2) quantity-quality and (3) determination of time- dependency. Secondly, by combining those, definition models are created. The list of possibilities consisting of nine items which constitute giftedness-in-ethics was developed. Inclusion test was applied to the definition models by checking whether they included the items in the list. Thirdly, Gap Theory was built based on the structure of “Although .... have done to him, he.... acted like.... ". Results : As a result, the main theme, general story and specific scenes of the movie are presented. Conclusion: The twice-difference situation was showned by (a) the opposition of what is dominant ethical understanding and (b) high level behaviors is explained. The profile of Giftedness-In-Ethics is depicted in a way that values wisdom and science, can question ethics with high-level of critical thinking, produce original behaviors in the face of social destruction, do not bend the self-motivation in unethical atmosphere, and autonomous and have no fear of authority. </p> </div> </div> </div>Burcu Seher ÇALIKOĞLU
